Advance Registration and Official Travel Agency

Participants are requested to print out the registration form and fill out the form, and return it together with your payment to Kinki Nippon Tourist Co., Ltd. (KNT), the official travel agency for the Symposium. KNT also will handle travel arrangements including hotel accommodations. Inquiries and applications in this regard should be addressed to:

Registration Fees

*The registration fee includes the proceedings, reception, symposium banquet and coffee breaks.
**Accompanying person(s) will be able to participate reception and banquet and unable to attend the symposium.
***The principal author or presenter is expected to pre-register before June 28, 2002. Without pre-registration the paper is not included in the proceedings. Author who submitted more than two papers should pay 15,000 Yen for each additional papers.
****The technical paper should be within 6 pages. If your paper exceeds 6 pages, you should pay extra page charge 5,000 Yen for each additional pages.

Extension of Pre-Registration

The pre-registration is extended to June 28, 2002. This is the final extension. Please pre-register as soon as possible.

Hotel Accommodations

Rooms have been reserved at hotels around Symposium venue (Hotel Lake View Mito) by KNT. For room reservation, you also are kindly requested to forward the completed Registration Form to KNT by July 10, 2002. Reservation should be accompanied by the payment of room deposit. No reservation will be confirmed in the absence of the payment. Hotel reservations are processed on a first-come-first-served basis. If your selected hotel is fully booked, you will be assigned to a hotel as close as possible to your choice. The name of your confirmed hotel, its exact room charge will be informed in a confirmation slip sent you after the deadline of application.

**Code1 : J.P.room is the Japanese style tatami room which can share up to 6 persons. Additional person costs 3,000 Yen.
1) Above rates are per room per night including 10% service charge and a 5% consumption tax will be added.
2) Meals are not included in the room charge.
3) Above rates are valid only during the period of ISMB-8
4) The deposit will be deducted from your hotel bill. Please settle the balance at the hotel.
5) Those who are staying for one night only should send one night room charge instead of deposit.

Payment
Payment of registration fees and the hotel deposits should be made only in Japanese Yen by one of the following methods.
1) Credit Card (VISA, Master Card, American Express, Diners Club or JCB only.)
*Please fill out the necessary information with your signature in the credit card section of the registration form.

Confirmation
ISMB-8 desk will send you a confirmation slip after acknowledging your Registration Form and payment. You will receive it after July 10, 2002.

Cancellation
In case of cancellation, written notification should be sent directly to KNT to avoid trouble.
The cancellation charges are:

Registration
On or before June 10, 2002.....................20% of registration charge
After June 10, 2002 or no notification .....No refund

Hotel accommodation
Up to 14 days prior to check-in date ......No charge
13 - 7 days prior to check-in date ..........10% of daily room charge
6 - 2 days prior to check-in date.............40% of daily room charge
Less than 2 days, or no notice given..... 100% of daily room charge

Refunds
Refunds will be made after deducting bank and/or credit card service charges and the above cancellation penalties either during or after the Symposium. If payment was made by credit card, reimbursement will be made through the credit card company, and if by bank transfer, please inform us at your bank account.
